Plato Would Like a Word About Canberra’s Art Exhibition
Plato argued that art is a copy of a copy. For The Art of Giving: Filotimo Group Exhibition, presented by AHEPA Australia, we brought him back to Athens to argue the point with Aristippus, and the exhibition’s Greek-Australian artists became the subject of the debate.
The concept came from curator Yanni Pounartzis. We developed the script together, pushing the jokes back and forth until they landed, then produced and edited the film using AI. It was made pro bono, in the spirit of filotimo, the Greek idea of doing right by others without expecting anything back.
The Art of Giving runs 5 to 15 November 2026 at The Gallery, ANU, Canberra. Proceeds support the ANU Centre for Personalised Medicine.
Concept: Yanni Pounartzis.
Writers: Yanni Pounartzis & Ken Buchan.
AI production, Sound & Editing: Ken Buchan Creative.
